정읍시치매안심센터는 7월부터 8월까지 등록 치매 어르신과 보호자를 대상으로 건강 상태와 생활·돌봄 실태를 확인하는 정기 상담을 실시한다.

상담은 전화를 기본으로 진행하며, 대상자의 상황에 따라 센터 방문 상담과 가정 방문 상담, 보호자 상담도 병행한다.

센터는 건강 상태와 치료 현황, 생활 습관, 동거 가족, 비상 연락망 등을 확인하고, 다른 기관의 지원 이용 여부와 치매안심센터 서비스 이용 현황도 함께 점검할 계획이다.

상담 과정에서는 보호자의 돌봄 부담과 추가 지원 필요 여부도 살핀다. 결과에 따라 치매치료관리비 지원, 조호 물품 제공, 치매환자 쉼터, 가족 지원 프로그램 등을 안내하고 연계할 예정이다.

여름철 폭염에 대비해 야외 활동 자제, 충분한 수분 섭취 등 온열질환 예방수칙도 함께 안내한다.

센터 관계자는 “정기 상담을 통해 치매 어르신과 가족의 어려움을 살피고 필요한 지원을 제때 제공하겠다”며 “치매 어르신과 가족이 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

The Jeongeup Dementia Relief Center will conduct regular consultations from July to August for registered elderly individuals with dementia and their caregivers to assess their health status, living conditions, and care situation.

The consultations will primarily be conducted over the phone, with the possibility of center visits, home visits, and caregiver consultations depending on the individual's situation.

The center will assess the individual's health status, treatment progress, lifestyle habits, cohabiting family members, emergency contact network, as well as check whether they are utilizing support from other organizations and the services provided by the dementia relief center.

During the consultation process, the caregiver's burden of care and the need for additional support will also be examined. Depending on the results, they plan to provide guidance and referrals for dementia treatment management expenses, relief supplies, dementia patient shelters, family support programs, and more.

They will also provide guidance on heat illness prevention measures such as refraining from outdoor activities and ensuring adequate fluid intake to prepare for the summer heat.

A center official stated, "Through regular consultations, we will assess the difficulties faced by elderly individuals with dementia and their families and provide necessary support in a timely manner," adding, "We will strive to create an environment where elderly individuals with dementia and their families can live comfortably and securely."
