전주시가 신생아 중환자 진료 공백 우려에 대응하기 위해 고위험 산모와 신생아를 위한 ‘안심 출산 시스템’ 구축에 나섰다.

전주시보건소는 최근 전북대학교병원 신생아 중환자실 핵심 전문인력과 원광대학교병원 신생아실 전임의 사직으로 신생아 중환자 진료에 대한 불안이 커짐에 따라 고위험 산모·신생아 응급 진료 대책을 추진한다고 22일 밝혔다.

지난 21일 기준 전주지역 분만의료기관의 임산부는 모두 3,723명이며, 이 가운데 고위험 임산부는 1,227명으로 약 33%를 차지한다.

시는 우선 보건소에 등록된 임신부 1,817명을 대상으로 1대1 전화 상담을 실시해 고위험 임신 질환 여부 등 건강 상태를 파악하고, 임신·출산 관련 지원사업을 안내했다.

또 등록 임신부에 대한 주기적인 건강 모니터링을 진행하고, 전북권역난임·임산부심리상담센터와 연계해 고위험 임산부 등을 대상으로 심리 상담을 지원할 계획이다.

전주지역 6개 분만의료기관의 고위험 산모 현황도 지속적으로 파악한다. 응급 산모와 신생아의 신속한 전원을 위해 ‘모자의료정보시스템’ 실시간 현황 공유와 활용을 당부하고, 지역 분만의료기관의 시스템 활용 상황도 점검했다.

시는 고위험 산모 응급분만 시 사설 구급차 이송료 지원, 중증 응급 산모 닥터헬기 이송 지원 등을 통해 소방본부·응급의료기관과 연계한 응급 이송 체계를 강화하기로 했다.

전주시는 전북대병원·예수병원, 지역 분만의료기관과 상시 협력 체계를 유지하고, 권역모자의료센터 안정적 운영과 필수의료체계 유지를 위해 전북자치도, 시의사회, 대한산부인과의사회와 함께 중앙부처에 공동 대응할 방침이다.

김신선 전주시보건소장은 “신생아 중환자 진료는 어떤 상황에서도 멈춰서는 안 되는 필수 의료 영역”이라며 “임신부와 신생아가 안전하게 진료받을 수 있는 보건의료 환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Jeonju City has embarked on establishing a "safe childbirth system" for high-risk pregnant women and newborns in response to concerns about gaps in medical care for critically ill newborns.

According to Jeonju City Health Center, due to recent resignations of key medical staff in the neonatal intensive care unit at Jeonbuk University Hospital and the neonatal unit at Wonkwang University Hospital, concerns have arisen regarding the treatment of critically ill newborns. Therefore, they are pushing forward with emergency medical care measures for high-risk pregnant women and newborns.

As of the 21st, there were a total of 3,723 pregnant women in Jeonju area maternity hospitals, with 1,227 of them being high-risk pregnant women, accounting for approximately 33%.

The city first conducted one-on-one telephone consultations with 1,817 registered pregnant women at the health center to assess their health status, including whether they have high-risk pregnancy conditions, and provided guidance on pregnancy and childbirth support programs.

They also plan to conduct regular health monitoring for registered pregnant women and provide psychological counseling support for high-risk pregnant women in collaboration with the Jeonbuk Regional Infertility and Pregnant Women's Psychological Counseling Center.

The current status of high-risk pregnant women in the six maternity hospitals in Jeonju area is continuously monitored. They emphasized the real-time sharing and utilization of the "Maternal Medical Information System" for prompt transfer of emergency pregnant women and newborns and checked the utilization status of the system in local maternity hospitals.

The city decided to strengthen the emergency transfer system by supporting private ambulance transfer fees for emergency high-risk pregnant women and doctor helicopter transfers for severe emergencies in coordination with the fire department and emergency medical institutions.

Jeonju City plans to maintain a constant cooperative system with Jeonbuk University Hospital, Yesu Hospital, and local maternity hospitals, and collaborate with Jeonbuk Province, local medical societies, and the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology to jointly respond to central government agencies to ensure stable operation of the regional maternal medical centers and maintenance of essential medical systems.

Kim Shin-sun, head of the Jeonju City Health Center, stated, "Treatment of critically ill newborns is an essential medical area that should never be halted under any circumstances," and expressed, "We will create a healthcare environment where pregnant women and newborns can receive treatment safely."
