조지훈 전주시장이 장애인의 낮시간 돌봄을 책임지는 장애인 주간 이용시설의 질적 서비스 향상과 종사자 처우개선을 위해 현장 관리자들과 머리를 맞댔다.

전주시는 4일 시청 3층 회의실에서 조지훈 전주시장과 전주지역 13개 장애인 주간 이용시설장이 참석한 가운데 ‘장애인 주간 이용시설 현안 개선 및 발전을 위한 현안 청취 간담회’를 개최했다.

이번 간담회는 최일선에서 장애인 보호와 지역사회 적응을 돕고 있는 주간 이용시설의 운영 애로사항을 청취하고, 서비스 질 저하를 막기 위한 실질적인 지원 방안을 모색하기 위해 추진됐다.

이 자리에서 참석한 시설장들은 지난 25년 이상 지역사회 돌봄을 수행해 온 시설들의 열악한 근무 환경을 지적하며, 타 시군과의 복지 격차를 줄이고 종사자 처우 및 시설 운영을 개선하기 위해 다각적인 현안을 제안했다.

이에 시는 현장의 고충에 깊이 공감하고, 제안된 현안에 대해 실질적인 예산 확보와 제도 개선 방안을 적극 검토키로 했다.

조지훈 전주시장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 장애인복지 최일선에서 헌신해 주시는 시설장님들과 종사자 여러분의 노고에 깊이 감사드린다”면서 “현장의 생생한 목소리를 시정에 적극 반영해 장애인과 가족, 그리고 종사자 모두가 존중받고, ‘우리가 특별해지는 도시 전주’를 온전히 체감할 수 있도록 촘촘하고 따뜻한 복지를 실현해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.

Former Mayor Jo Gihun met with on-site managers to discuss improving the quality of services and working conditions for staff at facilities providing daytime care for people with disabilities.

On the 4th, a meeting titled 'Consultation Meeting on Issues and Development of Facilities for Daytime Care for People with Disabilities' was held at the 3rd floor conference room of the city hall with Jo Gihun, the former mayor of Jeonju, and 13 facility managers from the Jeonju area in attendance.

The purpose of this meeting was to listen to the operational difficulties faced by the facilities that support the protection and social adaptation of people with disabilities at the frontline, and to explore practical support measures to prevent a decrease in service quality.

During the meeting, the facility managers pointed out the poor working conditions of facilities that have been providing community care for over 25 years, and proposed various issues to reduce the welfare gap with other cities, improve staff conditions, and enhance facility operations.

In response, the city expressed deep empathy for the challenges faced at the frontline and actively discussed securing budgets and improving regulations to address the proposed issues.

Former Mayor Jo Gihun expressed gratitude for the dedication of the facility managers and staff who work tirelessly in difficult conditions, stating, "I deeply appreciate the efforts of the facility managers and staff in the forefront of disability welfare, and I will actively reflect the voices from the field in city governance. We will strive to realize a close and warm welfare system so that people with disabilities, their families, and staff are all respected, and everyone can fully experience 'Jeonju, a city where we are all special.'"
