전북특별자치도는 오는 20일 ‘장애인의 날’을 맞아 도내 전역에서 장애인과 비장애인이 함께하는 기념주간 행사를 14일부터 21일까지 운영한다.

이번 행사는 ‘당연한 일상, 모두가 누릴 수 있도록’을 슬로건으로 장애인의 권리와 자립을 응원하고, 더불어 살아가는 공동체 가치를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.

전북자치도의 등록장애인은 12만7천여 명으로 도 전체 인구의 약 7.4%를 차지해 장애인 복지 정책의 중요성이 높은 상황이다. 이에 도는 올해 장애인의 삶의 질 향상과 권익 보호를 위해 총 114개 장애인 복지사업을 중점 추진하고 있으며, 이는 지난해보다 342억 원이 증액된 총 3,691억 원 규모로 도 전체 예산의 4.1%에 해당한다.

기념주간 행사는 21일까지 이어지며, 기념식과 문화행사, 인식개선 캠페인, 생산품 전시·판매 등 다양한 프로그램으로 운영된다.

주요 행사인 ‘제46회 장애인의 날 기념식’은 20일 전주화산체육관에서 개최되며, 장애인과 가족, 유관기관 등 1,000여 명이 참석할 예정이다. 기념식에서는 유공자 표창과 문화공연, 체험행사 등이 진행된다.

또한 장애인 인식개선 체험과 보조기기 전시, 장애인생산품 판매, 생활체육 체험 등 다양한 부대행사도 함께 마련돼 참여자들의 호응이 기대된다.

이와 함께 도내 14개 시군에서도 지역별 특성에 맞춘 기념행사와 문화 프로그램을 운영해 장애인과 지역주민이 함께하는 화합의 장을 마련할 계획이다.

민관 협력 프로그램도 운영된다. ESG 플리마켓과 거리 캠페인을 통해 장애인 생산품을 홍보하고 사회참여 확대와 인식 개선을 함께 추진한다.

방상윤 전북자치도 복지여성보건국장은 “이번 기념주간이 장애인의 일상과 권리를 함께 돌아보는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 장애인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.

The event, with the slogan 'An Ordinary Daily Life for All,' is organized to support the rights and independence of persons with disabilities and to spread the values of a community living together. In North Jeolla Province, there are over 127,000 registered persons with disabilities, accounting for approximately 7.4% of the total population, highlighting the importance of disability welfare policies. This year, the province is focusing on enhancing the quality of life and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities by implementing a total of 114 disability welfare projects, amounting to 3.691 billion won, an increase of 342 billion won from the previous year, representing 4.1% of the total provincial budget.

The commemorative week event will continue until the 21st, featuring ceremonies, cultural events, awareness campaigns, and exhibitions and sales of products made by persons with disabilities.

The main event, the '46th International Day of Persons with Disabilities Commemoration Ceremony,' will be held on the 20th at Jeonju Hwasan Sports Arena, with an expected attendance of over 1,000 persons with disabilities, their families, related organizations, and others. The ceremony will include awards for distinguished service, cultural performances, and experiential activities.

Additionally, various sub-events such as experiential activities for improving awareness of disabilities, exhibitions of assistive devices, sales of products made by persons with disabilities, and experiential activities in daily sports will be organized, anticipating active participation from attendees.

Moreover, in 14 cities and counties within the province, commemorative events and cultural programs tailored to the characteristics of each region will be held to create a harmonious space for persons with disabilities and local residents to come together.

Public-private cooperation programs will also be implemented. Through the ESG Flea Market and street campaigns, promotion of products made by persons with disabilities, expansion of social participation, and improvement of awareness will be jointly promoted.

Bang Sang-yoon, the Director of the Welfare, Women, and Health Department of North Jeolla Province, expressed hopes that this commemorative week will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the daily lives and rights of persons with disabilities, stating that continuous efforts will be made to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities in the future.
