장애인인권연대 장애아가족양육지원사업단이 마련한 ‘여름 물빛 나들이’가 장애아 가족들에게 여름철 특별한 휴식과 추억을 선사했다. 이번 행사는 무더운 여름, 돌봄 부담이 큰 장애아 가족을 위해 물놀이와 휴식을 결합한 프로그램으로 진행됐다.

이 프로그램은 2026년 6월30일 부터 7월2일까지 김제의 쿰바 스파랜드에서 열렸다. 참가 대상은 도내 장애아 가족으로, 약 120가족 400여 명이 현장에 함께했다. 행사에는 120여 명의 자원봉사자와 안전요원이 배치돼 참가자들의 안전한 이용을 지원했다.

행사 현장에서는 자원봉사자들이 아동과 1대1로 짝을 이뤄 물놀이를 함께하고, 환복과 씻기기, 화장실 이용까지 세심하게 도왔다. 특히 어린 참가자들이 안전하게 활동할 수 있도록 물놀이 공간 곳곳에는 안전요원이 배치돼 현장 상황을 살폈다. 보호자들은 자원봉사자들의 지원 속에 잠시 돌봄의 긴장을 내려놓고, 아이들과 함께 물속에서 웃음과 여유를 나눌 수 있었다.

이번 프로그램은 장애아 가족이 여름 휴가철에도 주변의 시선과 돌봄 부담에서 벗어나 마음 편히 쉬고 즐길 수 있도록 마련됐다는 점에서 의미가 크다. 워터파크를 단독 대관해 진행한 만큼 참가 가족들은 보다 편안한 분위기에서 물놀이를 즐겼고, 현장은 가족 단위의 휴식과 치유가 어우러진 공간으로 채워졌다.

행사를 주관한 장애인인권연대 이미라 장애인가족 양육지원사업단장은 "이번 나들이가 장애아 가족의 정서적 안정과 가족 간 유대감을 높이는 계기가 되길 바란다"고 밝혔다. 현장에 함께한 참가자들은 “오랜만에 아이와 함께 부담 없이 즐길 수 있었다”는 반응을 보이며 만족감을 드러냈다.

이번 ‘여름 물빛 나들이’는 단순한 체험 행사를 넘어, 돌봄이 일상인 장애아 가족에게 실질적인 쉼을 제공한 지역사회 휴식지원 프로그램으로 평가된다. 안전요원과 자원봉사자, 운영진의 협력이 더해지며 행사는 큰 사고 없이 3일차 프로그램을 안정적으로 진행중이다.

The 'Summer Water Play Outing' organized by the Disability Rights Solidarity Disability Family Care Support Team provided a special rest and memories for families with disabilities during the summer. This event combined water play and relaxation for families with disabilities who face heavy caregiving burdens during the hot summer.

The program took place from June 30 to July 2, 2026, at Kumbar Spaland in Gimje. The participants were families with disabilities in the province, with about 400 people from 120 families attending the event. Approximately 120 volunteers and safety personnel were deployed to support the safe use of the facilities by the participants.

At the event, volunteers paired up with children one-on-one for water play, assisted with changing clothes, washing up, and using the restroom. Safety personnel were stationed throughout the water play areas to ensure the safety of the young participants. Caregivers were able to relax momentarily in the support of volunteers and share laughter and relaxation with their children in the water.

This program holds significant meaning as it allowed families with disabilities to relax and enjoy themselves during the summer vacation period, free from the gaze of others and caregiving burdens. As the water park was exclusively reserved for the event, participating families were able to enjoy water play in a more comfortable atmosphere, filling the venue with a combination of family relaxation and healing.

Imi Ra, the head of the Disability Family Care Support Team at the Disability Rights Solidarity, expressed hope that this outing would be an opportunity to enhance emotional stability and family bonds among families with disabilities. Participants at the event expressed satisfaction, stating that they were able to enjoy time with their children without burdens.

The 'Summer Water Play Outing' is evaluated as a local community relaxation support program that goes beyond a simple experiential event, providing practical rest for families with disabilities for whom caregiving is a daily routine. With the collaboration of safety personnel, volunteers, and the organizing team, the event is progressing smoothly into its third day without any major incidents.
