전주시 여성단체협의회는 11일 전북여성가족재단에서 전주시에 거주하는 이주여성을 대상으로 성평등 인식 개선 교육을 실시했다.

이번 교육은 전주시 성평등 기금 지원으로 마련됐으며, ‘생활 속 성평등 실천 확산 프로젝트’를 주제로 진행됐다.

교육에서는 직장과 모임에서의 성평등 소통, 공정한 관계 만들기, 개인 역량과 사회참여, 나의 성평등 실천 계획 만들기 등을 주제로 참석자들이 성별 고정관념을 점검하고 평등한 가족문화 형성을 고민하는 시간을 가졌다.

정성자 전주시 여성단체협의회장은 “성별 고정관념과 문화적 차이로 인한 불평등을 극복하고, 이주여성들이 자신의 권리를 올바르게 인식하길 바란다”며 “가정과 지역사회에서 당당한 구성원이자 리더로 성장하는 데 도움이 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

전주시 여성단체협의회는 현재 10개 단체, 3,100여 명의 회원이 활동하고 있으며, 여성 역량 강화와 성평등 문화 확산, 지역사회 봉사활동 등을 이어가고 있다.

On the 11th, the Jeonju Women's Organization Council conducted a gender equality awareness improvement education for immigrant women residing in Jeonju at the Jeonbuk Women and Family Foundation.

This education was organized through support from the Jeonju City Gender Equality Fund and was conducted under the theme of 'Spreading Gender Equality Practices in Daily Life Project.'

During the education, participants examined gender stereotypes in workplaces and gatherings, creating fair relationships, personal skills and social participation, and creating their own gender equality action plans. They also had time to reflect on forming an equal family culture.

Jung Sung-ja, the chairperson of the Jeonju Women's Organization Council, said, "I hope to overcome inequality caused by gender stereotypes and cultural differences and for immigrant women to correctly recognize their rights." She added, "I hope this helps them grow as confident members and leaders in their families and local communities."

The Jeonju Women's Organization Council currently has 10 groups with over 3,100 members, and they continue to work on enhancing women's capabilities, spreading gender equality culture, and engaging in community service activities.
