독서 환경 변화로 지역 동네 서점들이 경영난을 겪는 가운데, 지역 작가들과 동네 서점이 손을 잡고 문화적 온기를 나누는 자리가 마련된다.

(사)전북작가회의는 전북특별자치도 문화예술 지원사업의 일환으로 오는 9월 8일부터 10일까지 사흘간 전주 시내 독립·동네 서점 3곳에서 ‘동네 서점과 작가들이 함께하는 북콘서트’를 개최한다.

이번 행사는 노벨문학상 수상 작가 한강이 운영하던 독립서점 ‘책방오늘’마저 지난 7월 잠정 폐업하는 등 날로 가중되는 동네 서점의 위기 속에서, 서점이 단순한 책 판매처를 넘어 지역 문화공간으로서 지니는 가치를 되새기기 위해 기획됐다.

사흘간 매일 오후 7시 진행되는 북콘서트에는 전북을 대표하는 작가 9명이 참여해 자신의 신간 이야기와 함께 서점에 얽힌 기억과 추억을 독자들과 공유한다.

첫날인 8일에는 '호남문고'에서 이병천 작가(‘시인의 수명은 길지 않죠’), 복효근 작가(‘밑불이라는 말이 있다’), 최아현 작가(‘밍키’)가 독자들과 만난다.

9일에는 책방 '잘익은언어들'에서 안도현 작가(‘쓸데없이 눈부신 게 세상에는 있어요’), 박서진 작가(‘글자 먹는 고양이 2’), 김영춘 작가(‘너는 왜 가끔 시가 되느냐’)의 무대가 이어진다.

마지막 날인 10일에는 서점 '카프카'에서 김용택 작가(‘그날의 초록빛’), 정도상 작가(‘소년 동주’), 박태건 작가(‘고려인 만두’)가 참여해 작품 세계와 삶에 관한 진솔한 이야기를 나눈다.

전북작가회의 관계자는 “우리 동네 독자들과 작가들이 한자리에 모여 거리를 좁히고, 여전히 동네 서점에 사람의 따뜻한 온기가 흐르고 있음을 알리는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

As local neighborhood bookstores struggle with business difficulties due to changes in reading environments, a space is being created for local authors and neighborhood bookstores to come together and share cultural warmth.

As part of the Jeonbuk Writers' Association, a three-day event called "Book Concert with Neighborhood Bookstores and Authors" will be held from September 8th to 10th at three independent and neighborhood bookstores in downtown Jeonju, as part of the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province's cultural and arts support program.

This event was planned to remind people of the value that bookstores hold as local cultural spaces beyond just places for selling books, amidst the increasing crisis facing neighborhood bookstores, with even the independent bookstore 'Bookstore Today' operated by Nobel Prize-winning author Han Kang temporarily closing in July.

During the three-day Book Concert held every evening at 7 p.m., nine representative authors from Jeonbuk will participate, sharing their new book stories, memories, and experiences related to bookstores with readers.

On the first day, the authors Lee Byung-cheon ("A Poet's Life is Not Long"), Bok Hyo-geun ("There is a Word Called Underlight"), and Choi A-hyun ("Mingki") will meet with readers at the bookstore 'Honam Bookstore'.

On the 9th, authors Ahn Do-hyun ("There is Something Dazzlingly Useless in the World"), Park Seo-jin ("The Cat that Eats Letters 2"), and Kim Young-chun ("Why Do You Sometimes Become a Poem?") will take the stage at the bookstore 'Ripe Languages'.

On the last day, authors Kim Yong-taek ("The Green Light of That Day"), Jung Do-sang ("Boy Dongju"), and Park Tae-geon ("Korean Dumplings") will participate at the bookstore 'Kafka', sharing sincere stories about their works and lives.

An official from the Jeonbuk Writers' Association expressed hope that the event would bring local readers and authors together in one place, bridging the gap and showcasing that the warm human touch still flows in neighborhood bookstores.
