Citizens' photos documenting the urban regeneration sites and daily landscapes of Jeonju have been selected as outstanding works for the '1st Jeonju Urban Regeneration Landscape Photo Exhibition'.

Jeonju City and the Jeonju Urban Regeneration Support Center announced on the 21st that out of a total of 88 works submitted to the '1st Jeonju Urban Regeneration Landscape Photo Exhibition - Jeonju's Change, a Single Record' which recorded Jeonju's urban regeneration sites through the eyes of citizens, 30 outstanding works were selected after judging.

This photo contest was planned to share the changes and values of the region with citizens through photographs documenting the spatial changes in urban regeneration project sites and the everyday scenes unfolding within them.

The contest was conducted under two themes: 'Changes in Space' and 'Moments of the City', with various works directly captured by citizens revealing the appearance of urban regeneration sites.

The city selected outstanding works from the 88 submissions that corresponded to the project sites. In the selection process, citizen online voting was utilized to allow citizens to directly appreciate and participate in the evaluation of the works.

Not only the citizens who submitted the photos but also those who participated in the evaluation were given the opportunity to discover and record the changes in urban regeneration together.

The selected works added value as materials for recording the changes and memories of the region by capturing not only the appearance of spaces transformed by urban regeneration projects but also the everyday landscapes where people and spaces come together.

The city plans to utilize the results of this photo exhibition for future promotion of urban regeneration projects, exhibitions, archive materials, etc., to share with citizens.

An official from Jeonju City expressed hope that "this photo exhibition will serve as an opportunity for citizens to naturally understand and empathize with urban regeneration in our surroundings, rather than as a difficult and unfamiliar policy," and stated, "We will continue to provide various opportunities for citizens to experience urban regeneration more intimately."

Meanwhile, in this photo exhibition, local cafes in Jeonju, 'DID' and 'Peace and Peace', participated to expand interest in urban regeneration and cooperation with local commercial districts, providing benefits to participants.
