The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province National Gugak Center Dance Troupe, led by Director Wang Ki-seok, will present the 35th regular performance "Muyongdam" on the 31st at 3 p.m.

This performance will express the emotions and stories of life that cannot be fully conveyed through words by using gestures, with the concept of "dancing speaking." Different works with varying characteristics such as flower dance, sanjo, hanryangmu, taepyeongmu, and percussion are structured into a single narrative format through the sequence of "Introduction - Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Conclusion."

By organically connecting solo dances and group dances, melodies and rhythms, graceful movements and dynamic percussion, the performance allows the audience to appreciate the various emotions and aesthetics inherent in our traditional dances, such as elegance, joy, origin, and vitality, as if following a single story.

The performance begins with the "Introduction - Opening the Door to the Story," where the first chapter of Muyongdam unfolds with delicate and beautiful dance movements like flowers blooming. In Part 1, through "Jungdam - Seeking Roots," which captures the depth and flow of sanjo, and "Cheongdam - Awakening the Spirit" based on the elegance and grace of hanryangmu, the origin of dance and the spirit within it are revisited.

In Part 2, after facing the realities and inner wounds through the mungo dance, the performance progresses to "Sindam - Seeking My True Self" where one searches for their true self amidst uncertainty, and then to "Chaedam - Wearing Colors" where one overcomes confusion, regains stability, and fills the lost colors with new hues. Starting from introspection towards one's inner self, the performance depicts the process of discovering one's own emotions and personality, expanding them into a variety of dance colors, and moving beyond wounds and confusion towards recovery and new possibilities.

Part 3 consists of "Wondam - Harmonizing with the Joy of Janggu Dance," "Dodam - Opening a New Path with the Energetic Spirit of Barachum," and "Hwadam - Drawing the Future with the Profound Dance of Baramu." It shows the process of individual dances meeting, communicating, and harmonizing with each other, expanding into dances where individuals dance together.

In the final part, "Conclusion - Awakening the Vitality, Uniting as One through Resonance," the powerful percussion and dynamic dance movements fill the stage, reaching the climax of the performance. The dance journey unfolded earlier converges into one in the vitality, concluding with a grand resonance.

In the flow expanding from "me to us, from land to sky," human emotions and relationships, and the meaning of community are expressed through the language of dance. Based on the artistic capabilities and major repertoire accumulated by the dance troupe, they present a stage where the inherent value of our traditional dance harmonizes with today's sensibilities, weaving each individual's story into a single narrative, conveying the power and communication of dance that connects people.

Park Ki-ryang, the artistic director of the dance troupe, stated, "Dance moves the heart before words and sometimes conveys the untold stories of life through gestures," adding, "I will continue to develop the creative activities and major repertoire of the dance troupe to carry on the value of traditional arts, while expanding the connection with the audience through performance contents that breathe with the times."
